So we do not, however, know just what is safe to inhale when it comes to vape juice. You might be able to eat something without harm, but inhaling it could be dangerous. A study suggests that when flavors are mixed with other vape juice chemicals and heated, they can produce new molecules that are potentially toxic.

Harmful compounds inhaled can have an impact on more than simply the lungs. Some vapers describe a condition known as vaper’s tongue that causes a complete or partial loss of taste sensation. 

What is the meaning of DIY vape juice?

DIY e-liquid is an abbreviation for “do-it-yourself” e-liquid. To put it another way, it’s e-liquid that you produce yourself from scratch rather than buying ready-made from a vape store.

Propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerine (VG), nicotine (dilutable in PG or VG), and one or even more flavorings are used in this process. DIY e-juice can, however, be made in a variety of methods. Even combining two ready-made e-liquids qualifies as manufacturing your DIY e-juice to some extent, despite purists’ objections.

You may also purchase “flavour shots” to add to the PG, VG, or nicotine base mixture. These are pre-made flavoring combinations that, once added to your base mix, turn into a ready-to-vape e-juice. This is similar to producing your juice from scratch, and it simplifies the most challenging part of the process – finding the correct balance of flavor components to create a tasty juice.

However, most DIY mixers prefer to mix their flavorings rather than utilizing pre-mixed flavor shots. This entails purchasing a variety of flavorings and determining the proper proportions of each to achieve the desired flavor. These flavors sometimes are created particularly for vaping. Still, they’re often just regular food flavorings marketed by companies that weren’t meant for use in e-liquid in the first place.

Types of Vape Juice

Vape juices come in various flavors, and the percentages of vegetable glycerine (VG) and propylene glycol (PG) in each can be used to distinguish them. The most frequent ratio is 80 percent vegetable glycerine & 20% propylene glycol. The following are among the most frequent varieties found in your neighborhood vape shop:

  • 70PG/30VG

Vapes that create less heat or have a higher coil resistance, usually greater than 1.8ohm, are best suited for this sort of vape juice.   • Nicotine Salts

Nicotine salts are the newest fad in vaping as they produce a more potent head rush with less throat irritation. This allows you to obtain a larger amount of nicotine without the harshness. Because significant nicotine levels must be given at lower temperatures and with fewer clouds, such a type of vape juice is created exclusively for pod systems with low wattage and higher coil resistance.

Weight and volume are two methods for mixing DIY e-juice

There are two methods for making DIY e-juice, each with its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

  • Mixing by weight: Using a scale, each component is weighed, and its specific gravity is taken into consideration before being added to the mix. Simply put, a milliliter of VG weighs more than a milliliter of PG or a milliliter of flavor. But don’t worry about the science.   • Mixing by volume: the method entails using an extensive set of syringes to measure the volume of every ingredient (ideally 1 per ingredient).
